Description
Don't buy this image, it is only to show the 4 panels together. This is a work in progress, it still has to be broken into the four equal panels as depicted, before it can be listed for download on Fine Art America as they require each section, (panel), to be listed as an individual work of art. If you want to order the 4 panel set, email me and I will put up each panel by itself for you (and every one) to order and download.
In the old days, Hawaiians and other Polynesians made very colorful bark cloth from a pliable mulberry bark. These thin felt-like, (non-woven) cloths were often printed with bold geometric designs. The usual design color was an orange brown sienna with black ash lines. But many other colors were available from natural sources. Most Polynesians call these printed bark cloths Tapa. But due to language changes over hundreds of years the Hawaiians called it Kapa. I made a long Tapa-like design using traditional Polynesians square flower designs with their common triangle designs, and curved moon-like descending size shapes to make a traditional looking Tapa design that
looks good as a wall decoration when broken into 4 panels. It looks good in it's original orange brown sienna version and then even better in various other color versions of the same print. It is a modern print version of an old time Tapa print!
