Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. I put all my favorite colors, pink, purple, maroon into one glowing sunset with many bright fantastic colored waves. I did a Maui sunset like this 14 years ago, I think I used a photo of a painting from a how to paint seascapes, or popular seascape artists as the basis. It wasn't a direct copy, but was based on the picture. I wanted to do something similar now, as it turned out lovely, but I can't find the source material, so I have to reconstruct it from memory as I have no photograph of my painting anywhere. Turned out fine. I wonder if it is better than the previous one.
