Artist's Description

I love the big Hayden mangos. They have so many colors, like they were designed by an artist. They have purple areas fading into dark reds, and of course oranges and yellow, and greens. They even have white spots and often an over all whitish glaze, (that can be rubbed off). A truly magnificent fruit. Ideal for a still life. I admire a really well done still life where mere smears of color combine to make a fruit more real than real life. Here I am trying to do something along that line. I like to make my seascapes and Hawaiian paintings set in old-time Hawaii. So here I have included a bamboo knife, just like the ancient Hawaiians used for food preparation.
