While living on the Makaha coast I would occasionally see these beautiful tropical birds with long forked tails flying high as they came from the sea inland, perhaps to the cliffs in the area. It turns out their name is Tropicbird. And we have them in Hawaii. I was painting a cloud study of Hawaiian clouds and I just had to include a Tropicbird. Enjoy the freedom of soaring.
